Draft 2023 – 2027 CAP Strategic PlanThroughout March the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine will hold a series of public information sessions relating to Ireland’s Draft CAP Strategic Plan (CSP) for the period 2023 – 2027. The information sessions will take place at 11 venues nationwide. One online webinar is scheduled for March 15th; this will accommodate those who cannot attend the face-to-face events.

The first session took place in Co. Westmeath at the Mullingar Park Hotel on March 3rd; the remaining sessions are scheduled for:

  • Co. Cork at the Charleville Park Hotel on Tuesday March 8th, from 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co. Kerry at the Killarney Convention Centre on Wednesday March 9th, from 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co. Cork at the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery on Tuesday March 10th, 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co. Tipperary at the Clonmel Park Hotel on Monday March 14th, 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co. Mayo at the TF Royal Hotel, Castlebar on Tuesday March 22nd, 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co. Leitrim at The Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday March 23rd, 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co. Galway at the Shearwater Hotel and Spa Hotel, Ballinasloe on Thursday March 24th, 20:00 – 21:30;
  • Co Monaghan at the Nuremore Hotel, Carrickmacross, on Tuesday March 29th, 20:00 – 21:30; and
  • Co. Donegal at the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny on Wednesday March 30th, 20:00 – 21:30.

The sessions will provide important information to farmers about the changes that will occur when the new CAP 2023 commences. In particular, the information sessions will cover direct payments including entitlements, active farmer checks, agricultural activity, land eligibility changes, stocking rates, eco-schemes, details on the new Agri-Environmental Climate Measure (AECM), organic farming and other important information.
